Visits are only possible within a guided tour. The guided tour takes about 30 minutes.
Guided tours are offered daily from:
10.00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m. (Winter opening times) and
9.00 a.m. - 6.00 p.m. (Summer opening times)
with limited capacity.
Neuschwanstein Castle is closed on January 1st, December 24th, 25th and 31st.
The following languages are offered:
• German and English speaking guide
• Portable audio guide device: French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Hungarian, Czech, Slovenian, Polish, Greek, Hebrew, Russian, Arabian, Japanese, Mandarin, Korean and Thai.
All tours take place with a guide.
For wheelchair users and handicapped persons there is a possibility to join a regular guided tour by elevator.
The elevator in Neuschwanstein Castle is generally available once every hour for 1 disabled person or 1 person in a wheelchair (+ 1 person in company). This service is depending on availability.
We ungently recommend to reserve this elevator in advance. Please simply fill in the regular RESERVATION FORM for Neuschwanstein castle and please use the message panel in order to inform us that you will need the elevator. A Service fee for the Reservation will be charged.
There is no rental service for wheelchairs or rollators on spot. The required wheelchair must be brought along become.
We recommend to use the horse carriage to Neuschwanstein castle (however the carriage has no ramp). For more information please click here.
Important note: Restoration work is currently being carried out inside the Neuschwanstein castle. This unavoidably could produce a bit of noise, just as in some areas signs of the ongoing work will be visible. Due to the work, some signs of the walls will not be visible and of course we have had to temporarily move the textiles from the rooms where work is being done. We apologise for any inconvenience!

The entrance tickets for Hohenschwangau castle as well as the combination-tickets can only be purchased at the Ticket Center in Hohenschwangau and only for the same day of your visit.
You can reserve the your tickets in advance. Reservations are possible up to 2 days before your desired visit to the castle. Reservations for the same day are not possible.
