Since September 2011 the Museum of bavarian kings is located in the historical building of the former Grandhotel Alpenrose. With modern museums technology and original exhibits the museum abducts you in the history of one oy the oldest dynasties of europe in more than 1000 square meters.
Explore a permanent unique exhibition within a journey through time into the history of the Wittelsbach dynasty and their bavarian Kings. Experience the history of King Ludwig II and his family in authentic vicinity of the royal castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau. Precious objects, fascinating stories and interactive media stations will provide you an extraordinary insight into the history of the former Royal Family and their still living descendants.
Admire original exhibits as well as most modern museum-Technology.
Opening times: the Museum is open daily from 9.00 a.m. until 5.00 p.m.
On December 24th and 25th as well as January 1st the Museum is closed.
The visit of the Museum of Bavarian Kings is not time-bound. You can explore the Museum on your own and at your own pace. If you wish to visit the Museum, you don't need a reservation. The tickets for the Museum of Bavarian Kings can be bought at the Ticket Center or directly at the Museum.
The Museum is fully accessible for wheelchair users and visitor with mobility difficulties. An elevator is available.

• German, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Mandarin, Polish.
You are welcome to visit the museum as part of a english guided tour. In order to fulfill your desired date, we kindly ask you to book your tour at least 4 days in advance. There is no minimum number of participants.
Guided tours take place from 1 person.
Prices for guided tours:
Guided tours from 15 persons: € 1.50 per person plus entrance fee
Guided tours for up to 15 people: € 1.50 per person + € 40.00 once per group + entrance fee

Museum tickets can be reserved in advance. There is no additional service fee for the reservation of the tickets.
