Hygiene Measures

Current information / Coronavirus:

The Castles Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau as well as the Museum of the Bavarian Kings are open.

The following rules apply for a visit to the sights (14 years and older):
2G-Plus rules (vaccinated, recovered, only with an FFP2 face mask and negative test)

Vaccinated people who have already received a "booster" vaccination, or who had an infection with SARS-CoV-2 after their full immunization (vaccine breakthrough) do not have to present a negative corona test.
Children under 14 years are exempt from the 2G plus rule. Schoolchildren are considered tested (student ID required).

Further Information on our Covid-19 protective measures

Compulsory wearing of face masks

All visitors must wear mouth and nose masks. We ask for your understanding, that we can not grant you access without a mouth and nose mask. Children under 7 years of age do not have to wear a mouth and nose mask.

If the traffic light is set to “green” the wearing of an operating mask is sufficient. If the traffic light is set to “yellow” od "red" you need to wear a FFP2 mask.

Social distance

Please keep the usual distance of 1.5 metres from other guests. Avoid forming groups!

Hand desinfection

Hand desinfection dispensers can be found at the main entrance, in the toilet area and in the museum shop.

Cashless payment

We ask you to pay as cashless as possible. But of course, you still have the option to pay with cash.

Our audio-guides are enclosed with a protection cover that is renewed after each guest. Of course all audio-guides are additionally wiped with desinfection after each use, too.

Limited number of visitors

Due to the national hygiene guidelines, only a limited number of guests is allowed to stay in the exhibition rooms at the same time. Therefore there may be occasional waiting times at the cash desk. We ask for your understanding.

Guided tours

Guided tours through the exhibition rooms are only possible with groups up to a number of 10 people. Of course it is also possible to guide several groups through the exhibition at intervals of 10 minutes.

Please understand that we can only grant you access to our Museumshop with a valid Museum entrance ticket.

In order to reconstruct possible infection chains, we are obliged to ask each guest for a valid contact address. We kindly ask you to fill out the appropriate form (name, postal address or email address or telephone number) or leave your business card at the cash desk.

Thank you for your understanding.

We wish you an interesting and pleasant stay.
